- 1 lb Bacon.
- 1 lb chicken breasts.
- 1 lb Long grain rice unrinced.
- 1 onion, chopped.
- 1 Bell pepper, chopped.
- 5 clove chopped garlic.
- 12 oz tomato paste.
- 3 tbsp seasalt.
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper.
- 1 tsp habanero.
- 1 tsp black pepper.
- 6 cup water.
- 2 tsp paprika.
Step by step how to cook Classic Gumbo:
- Simmer cut up sausage, chopped bacon, and cut up chicken in a large skillet with bell pepper, onion and garlic. Simmer until chicken is fully cooked..
- In large pot add 1 pound of rice to 6 cups of water..
- Add tomato paste, sea salt, cayenne, habenero, paprika and black pepper to rice and water. Turn stove top up to med-high and begin to slowly bring to a boil..
