Ingredients for Amala Gatagat:

  1. 10 goosberries(Amla).
  2. 1/2 cup Jaggery.
  3. For Dry spices-.
  4. 1 tbsp dry ginger powder.
  5. 1 tbsp Amchur powder.
  6. 1/4 tbsp asafoetida (Hing).
  7. 1 tbsp jeera powder.
  8. 1 tbsp carom seeds powder.
  9. 1/4 cup powdered sugar.

Step by step how to cook Amala Gatagat:

  1. Wash Amala and take 2 whistles in a cooker and let it cool. Now separate the seeds and grind the Amla in a grinder to a smooth paste..
  2. Take amla paste in a non-stick pan on medium flame, add jaggery and let it melt, keep stirring the mixture. Once it starts thickening add all dry spices one by one and keep stirring let all moisture goes off let it become dry..
  3. In a plate take powdered sugar and make small balls and coat it evenly with powder sugar. Keep this in airtight container..
