  1. Sift flour and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Add sugar and margarine, and rub into the flour.
  3. Add the yeast and mix together well.
  4. Make a well in the flour and pour the beaten egg followed by warm milk.

  6. Turn dough out on a flour surface, knead for about 15 minutes.
